What Makes Indigo’s Approach Unique?
Indigo Teaching Methodology
We integrate evidence-based programs and therapies to ensure every learner is mentally, emotionally, and physically ready for academic success:
- Davis® Focusing Tools – Release, Focus, and Energy Dial
- Brain Balancing & Brain Gym Exercises
- Yoga & Mudra Therapy
- Sound Therapy
- Brighter Minds Program (modified to suit the learner’s needs)
- Vagus Nerve Stimulation Techniques
These multimodal practices help students regulate attention, manage stress, build resilience, and stay present for learning.
Developed by Ron Davis (author of The Gift of Dyslexia) and Sharon Pfeiffer, the Davis® Learning Strategies provide children with practical cognitive tools that enhance:
- Reading & sight vocabulary
- Comprehension and conceptual understanding
- Language development
- Emotional self-regulation
- Social interaction skills
- Independent focus and attention
DLS uniquely empowers both verbal and non-verbal thinkers, ensuring every learner can access learning with clarity and confidence.
- Release: Calming the body and mind through controlled breathing
- Focus: Aligning awareness and presence for learning
- Energy Dial: Adjusting internal energy levels to match task demands
Experiential, Creative & Meaning-Based Learning
Indigo learners master each concept through a powerful three-step process:
Life Concepts: Building Self, Identity & Values
Indigo pedagogy weaves eight foundational life concepts across subjects to develop socially and emotionally grounded individuals:
- I (Self)
- Symbiotic Relationships
- Change
- Sequence
- Consequence
- Time
- Order & Disorder
- Cause & Effect
Through experiential lessons, children gain a deep sense of who they are, how the world works, and how their choices shape outcomes.
Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Our IEPs are strength-based, child-centric, and collaborative, created through:
- Baseline literacy & numeracy assessments
- Classroom observations
- Social-emotional assessments
- Regular parent meetings and training
- Continuous monitoring through formative and summative evaluations
Each IEP reflects the child’s unique learning strengths, needs, and preferred learning style.
