Secretary General

Johan Mathew

“I don’t get lucky. I make my own luck.” – Harvey Specter. A quote Johaan lives by.

Walking into the first edition of HeartsMUN as a volunteer, then as part of the organising committee, then as Under Secretary General of Delegate Affairs, he now stands at the top of the food chain as Secretary General. Four editions. One conference. His home ground, where he hopes to give every delegate the best experience possible and as an Arsenal fan, he knows the fourth year is going to be marvellous.

A man of detail and precision, Johann is no stranger to sleepless nights or countless hours fixating on a screen, 3am directive writing and midnight lobbying sessions have prepared him well for this moment. Across three years and nearly 30 conferences — 15+ delegate appearances, 4 Best Delegates, 2 High Commendations, 3 Special Mentions, seven stints in the OC or Secretariat, and six Executive Board appearances. He believes that only with complete understanding and proper experience can one achieve success in anything they take part in, and he hopes to use all of his combined experience in giving back to the circuit and school who have done so much for him.

Outside the room, he is a competitive debater on the ISDC circuit or in other forums, an orator, long before he knew what a MUN was, and someone who quietly dabbles in poetry, drama, and football. Law is the destination – and like most law aspirants in the circuit, he firmly denies that suits had any influence on that decision, while simultaneously using Harvey Specter quotes for every bio he writes.

Director General

Anushka Anand

“The future belongs to those who dare to question the present.”

Serving as the Director General of HEARTSMUN 2026, Anushka, who is pursuing her A levels at HIS, is an aspiring corporate lawyer, student leader, debater, and professional over-thinker. A proud product of the Bangalore MUN and debating circuit, she has somehow managed to turn questioning everything into a personality trait.

Inspired by trailblazers such as Shirley Chisholm, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Rosa Parks, Anushka is fascinated by the intersection of law, politics, economics, and social change. Whether it’s analysing election campaigns, discussing constitutional law, or debating public policy, she firmly believes that the most interesting conversations begin when people stop accepting things at face value.

Her academic interests have taken her from writing about Angela Davis’ advocacy for prison reform to publishing an opinion piece on mutual funds and financial literacy. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to engage with initiatives and programmes associated with institutions such as Harvard, Monash University, and IIT Bombay, experiences that further fuelled her curiosity about leadership, innovation, and public impact.

Having previously served as the USG of Registrations, Public Relations, and Certificates for HEARTSMUN 2025 as well as Senior House Captain 25’ at HIS, Anushka is no stranger to leadership or organised chaos!

When she isn’t organising conferences, you’ll probably find her watching Oxford Union debates with an alarming level of enthusiasm, analysing Indian elections as though she works for a news channel, reading about corporate law for fun, or disappearing into a research rabbit hole that started with a simple question and somehow ended with fifteen open tabs and absolutely no regrets.

As Director General, she hopes to create a conference where delegates are encouraged to think boldly, speak fearlessly, and challenge ideas including their own. After all, if nobody leaves the committee questioning at least one thing they thought they knew, was it really a good debate? She warmly welcomes you to HEARTSMUN 2026 and looks forward to seeing the ideas, arguments, and occasional diplomatic chaos that make MUN unforgettable.

Convener

Pranav K.S

“To win the lottery, you got to make the money to buy the ticket” – Lou Bloom

Pranav’s mentality strives on this very quote. A sprinter at his core and debater at heart whose interests lie in both physical and creative pursuits. Jumping through the ranks of Hearts MUN from volunteer to convener in the span of a single edition, a leap of faith some would call it. Maintaining his passion for economics, his wants are unlimited and the work he puts in to achieve those wants are also unlimited. He speaks about anything and everything that comes to his mind with close to no filter advocating for freedom and a stand against all that is wrong with modern society.

In addition to this, Pranav has participated in 9 MUNs and 5 debate competitions. Earning 2 Best Delegate awards and 4 High Commendations. He’s no beginner to all-nighters with a Red bull in his hand as countless YouTube videos built his knowledge ranging from Pokémon to politics. He strongly believes that it’s the smallest details that make the biggest of differences especially when it comes to drafting resolutions or writing research papers that are never going to be published. However, everything’s alright as long as he gets his minutes on Spotify in.

A world cannot exist without a jester to provide it with balance, a man who speaks twice before he thinks once. Pranav swears he’s locked in but 90 percent of the time he’s lost in a world somewhere in a distant corner of his mind, the other 10 percent is spent thinking about how to convince people that he knows exactly what he’s doing. Fortunately, no one’s taken the time to ask too many questions so far.

Chief of Staff

Asvakantha Sudarshan

Asvakantha Sudarshan (Asva) is an A Level student, a leader by instinct, and a firm believer in the power of service. His interests lie in community engagement, diplomacy, and bringing people together through meaningful initiatives. Serving as the Vice President of the Interact Club, he has led and coordinated over 25 events and projects, developing strong skills in leadership, teamwork, and event management. His dedication to service was recognized through the Best Male Rotarian Award, a testament to his commitment to creating a positive impact on those around him.

In addition to this, Asva has been an integral part of HMUN for the past three years. Beginning as a volunteer for two consecutive editions before serving as the Under-Secretary-General for Food and Discipline, he has experienced conference management from nearly every angle. He has also played a key role in organizing Jaagriti, his school’s flagship cultural festival, where planning, coordination, and adaptability became second nature. Whether it is managing a team, solving last-minute problems, or ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, Asva is always ready to step up when needed.

Beyond conference rooms and committee sessions, Asva is an enthusiastic sportsman and an avid traveller. Having explored countries such as Canada, the United Kingdom, Norway, Germany, and the United States, he has developed a broader perspective on cultures, people, and the world around him. While he may appear composed and organized, those who know him well understand that there is always another plan, idea, or project running through his mind. Asva believes that leadership is not about being the loudest voice in the room, but about creating opportunities for others to succeed—and if everything goes according to plan, he’ll gladly tell you it was all part of the strategy from the beginning
