Questions Parents Ask About Cambridge (FAQs)
Find answers to common questions about the Cambridge curriculum at HIS Omega.
It is an international pathway from Cambridge University Press & Assessment, followed by schools in over 160 countries. Children move through four stages: Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and AS and A Level. Each stage builds on the one before, so learning feels connected from the first day to the last.
It focuses on understanding, not memorising. Students are encouraged to ask questions, apply ideas, solve problems, and explain their thinking. It is also flexible, so students can choose subjects that fit their strengths and goals.
Primary is for ages 5 to 11, Lower Secondary for 11 to 14, IGCSE for 14 to 16, and AS and A Level for 16 to 19.
Yes. IGCSE/ A Levels are respected by universities in India, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, and across Europe and Asia..A dedicated counselling team supports students throughout their secondary years, guiding them through university exploration, applications, and decision-making..
Through a mix of classroom assessments, regular feedback, and Cambridge Checkpoint tests at the end of Primary and Lower Secondary. IGCSE and A Level students sit external Cambridge exams. We share progress with parents through reports and meetings, not only marks.
Not at all. Many of our students transition from other curricula and settle in well. We assess each child's needs at admission and offer bridge support in the first few months where it helps.
Teachers use simple, clear language and plenty of speaking, reading, and writing practice. Children who need extra help receive targeted support so they grow in confidence.
Yes. We believe a child is more than a report card. Sports, performing arts, clubs, service projects, and leadership roles are part of the weekly routine.
Every child is known by their class teacher and supported by our counselors. We keep an open door for parents, and we encourage you to reach out early if something feels off.
Through parent teacher meetings, workshops, events, and regular updates from the school. Your voice matters, and we welcome feedback.
You submit an application, meet our admissions team, and your child takes a friendly interaction or assessment based on the grade. The aim is to understand your child, not to filter them out.
Yes, this is possible. With CBSE, Cambridge, IB and NIOS all on one campus, a child can change pathways and still stay with the school, friends, and teachers they trust. We plan every move with care so it feels like a step forward, not a fresh start. However, admission to a new stream depends on seat availability and our selection criteria.
Learning at HIS Omega goes well beyond the classroom. Children take part in sports, music, dance and debates, with a dedicated cricket ground on campus. Annual Day, exhibitions, HeartsMun and fairs give every child a stage, while Life Skills Activities, environmental education, and community service build kindness, responsibility, and confidence.

Yes. Cambridge students can pursue competitive examinations such as NEET and JEE, provided they choose the appropriate subjects and meet the eligibility requirements prescribed by the respective examination authorities and institutions.
The Cambridge curricula develop strong conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, problem-solving and independent learning skills, all of which are valuable for competitive examinations. However, NEET and JEE require focused preparation, extensive practice and familiarity with the specific examination pattern. Therefore, it may not necessarily be easier, but students with a strong conceptual foundation can adapt well to the preparation.
At HIS Omega, students aspiring for Indian competitive examinations are guided to align their Cambridge/IB subject choices and academic preparation with their future goals, while building the discipline and confidence required for entrance examinations.
***Students and parents are advised to check the latest eligibility, subject and examination requirements prescribed by NEET/JEE and the respective institutions, as these requirements may change.*
Are the teachers qualified to deliver the Cambridge Curriculum
Absolutely. Our teachers are qualified, experienced and specially trained to deliver the Cambridge curricula. They bring strong subject knowledge, international teaching practices and a student-centred approach to the classroom. Most importantly, they continuously upskill to ensure your child receives the guidance, support and learning experience needed to thrive in an international curriculum.
What is the major difference between CBSE & CAMBRIDGE
CBSE is India's national curriculum, with a structured syllabus and board exams that prepare students well for Indian entrance exams like JEE and NEET. Cambridge is an international curriculum that focuses more on application, critical thinking, and subject choice, and is recognised by universities worldwide. Both are excellent paths, and the right fit depends on your child's learning style and future goals.
Yes. Cambridge students take international exams at the end of Grade 10 (IGCSE) and Grade 12 (AS and A Level). These are set and marked by Cambridge and are recognised by universities worldwide.
Yes. Cambridge students can apply for engineering admission through TNEA. They will need an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for their Cambridge qualifications. Admission rules can change each year, so we recommend checking the latest TNEA guidelines.
Which curriculum is difficult for the students to study- CBSE /Cambridge
Neither is harder than the other. They simply test different strengths. CBSE has a structured syllabus with a strong focus on core content and exam preparation, while Cambridge focuses more on application, critical thinking, and independent learning. The right choice depends on your child's learning style, interests, and future goals.
How does Cambridge curriculum benefit the children
Cambridge helps children become confident, independent learners. It encourages them to think critically, ask questions, and apply what they learn to real situations, rather than only remembering facts. Students also get flexibility in choosing subjects that match their interests and strengths, and the qualifications are recognised by universities across the world, which opens doors for higher studies in India and abroad.
