Questions Parents Ask About the IB Diploma Programme (FAQs)
Find answers to common questions about the IBDP at HIS Omega.
The IBDP is a two year pre university programme for Grades 11 and 12, recognised by universities around the world. It is designed to help students think deeply, research independently, and grow as caring, curious people, not just good exam takers.
Because our students are known and nurtured as individuals. Here the IBDP sits within a Heartfulness culture of calm, kindness and purpose, supported by experienced teachers and a campus built for learning, from the Quadrangle to our labs and creative spaces.
Students who have completed Grade 10 (CBSE, Cambridge IGCSE, ICSE, or an equivalent board) and are keen to learn, question and stretch themselves.
Students choose six subjects across language, language acquisition, individuals and societies, sciences, mathematics and the arts, with the option of a second subject from another group in place of an arts subject. Three are taken at Higher Level and three at Standard Level. Please do click here to know more about the subjects offered:

Every Diploma student completes three things alongside their subjects. Theory of Knowledge (TOK) teaches students to question how we know what we know. The Extended Essay is an independent research paper of up to 4,000 words. CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) encourages students to learn through experience and give back to others.
Each subject is scored from 1 to 7, and the core can add up to 3 bonus points, for a maximum of 45. Students need at least 24 points to earn the Diploma, subject to the IB's conditions. Assessment includes internal assessments marked by teachers and moderated by the IB, plus final examinations in May.
It is demanding, but it need not be overwhelming. We help students plan their time, give regular mentoring, and keep wellbeing at the heart of school life, including mindfulness practice. Most students find that steady habits matter more than long hours.

Yes. IBDP students can pursue competitive examinations such as NEET and JEE, provided they choose the appropriate subjects and meet the eligibility requirements prescribed by the respective examination authorities and institutions.
The IB curricula develop strong conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, problem-solving and independent learning skills, all of which are valuable for competitive examinations. However, NEET and JEE require focused preparation, extensive practice and familiarity with the specific examination pattern. Therefore, it may not necessarily be easier, but students with a strong conceptual foundation can adapt well to the preparation.
At HIS Omega, students aspiring for Indian competitive examinations are guided to align their IB subject choices and academic preparation with their future goals, while building the discipline and confidence required for entrance examinations.
***Students and parents are advised to check the latest eligibility, subject and examination requirements prescribed by NEET/JEE and the respective institutions, as these requirements may change.*
