FAQ
Heartful Kids is our Early Years Program for children aged 2½ to 6 years. We bring together ideas from contemporary early childhood education, guided by our understanding of how young children learn and develop.
Rather than relying mainly on teacher-led instruction and children completing the same tasks, we give children opportunities to explore, ask questions, make choices and learn through real experiences. Our approach brings together play, stories, inquiry, projects, hands-on activities and purposeful teaching. Children are active participants in their learning, while teachers guide, observe and offer new challenges.
Children learn by doing, trying, talking, exploring and making connections. They might count real objects, investigate a seed, build a structure, explore colour or follow a question that emerges from a story. These experiences help children connect new ideas with what they already know.
Our teachers thoughtfully combine hands-on exploration with explicit guidance and opportunities to practise new skills. The aim is not just to help children remember information, but to understand it, use it and become curious about what comes next.
Learning to express an idea, ask for help, manage a disagreement, make a choice or try again after a setback is just as important as learning letters and numbers.
Children have daily opportunities to make decisions, communicate their thoughts, listen to others, build friendships and gradually manage routines independently. Through warm relationships, purposeful experiences and adult guidance, they learn to recognise feelings, navigate challenges and consider other people's perspectives.
Kindness, patience and gratitude are woven into everyday life. We want children to grow not only as capable learners, but also as confident communicators and caring members of a community.
Nature offers children opportunities to move, observe, wonder and discover. A puddle, a fallen leaf, an insect or a growing seed can lead to questions, investigations and meaningful learning.
Our green campus gives children space to explore the natural world through outdoor play, gardening and everyday encounters with their environment. These experiences support movement, sensory exploration, curiosity and connection with the living world. They also give children opportunities to slow down, notice details and develop a sense of care for their surroundings.
We prepare children for more than the academic expectations of Grade 1. Alongside developing foundations in reading, writing and mathematical thinking, children learn to communicate confidently, work with others, manage everyday routines, make choices and approach challenges with growing independence.
By K2, we support children in developing confidence in speaking, reading and writing, alongside the social-emotional skills they need to participate in a new learning environment. We recognise that children develop at different rates, so we observe their progress and support the next steps each child needs.
The transition from EYP at Manapakkam to Primary at Kolapakkam is an important part of this journey. With appropriate preparation and communication between teachers, we aim to help children enter this next chapter feeling secure, capable and ready to learn.
We watch, listen and notice how children engage, communicate, solve problems and apply what they learn. Teachers draw on observations, conversations, classroom experiences, activity sheets, work samples and learning documentation to understand each child's progress.
We share learning updates and term achievement records with families and use what we notice to plan meaningful next steps. There are no formal examinations in EYP. Our focus is on understanding each child’s development and helping them continue to grow.
Every child brings different strengths, interests, experiences and learning needs. Our teachers adapt experiences and offer different levels of support and challenge, depending on what each child is ready for.
Some children need more time to revisit an idea; others are ready to explore it further. We aim to create an environment where every child can participate, feel included and make progress in their own way.
