We the students of HIS are delighted to announce the next edition of our most awaited cultural initiative “Kalanjali 2026”, with this year’s theme “Rasa Manjari – A Garland of Emotions.”

The evening will feature our Artist for the Season, Smt. Priyadarshini Govind, one of the foremost exponents of Bharatanatyam and an acclaimed performer, educator and institution builder. With over five decades dedicated to the classical arts, she is renowned for her mastery of abhinaya, the nuanced language of emotional expression. Her pioneering ‘Learning Ladder* pedagogy explores the Navarasa*, bringing alive the emotional and philosophical dimensions of India’s classical tradition.

More than a cultural presentation, Kalanjali is holistic education in action. Conceived and managed by our Senior School students under the guidance of their teachers, the festival offers a unique opportunity to experience the disciplines of event management, collaboration and leadership, while connecting deeply with India’s artistic heritage.

Over the years, Kalanjali has welcomed distinguished artists including Bombay Jayashri, Ranjani Gayatri, Shashank, Dr. Anita Ratnam and Pandit Rahul Sharma, building a cherished legacy of music, dance and cultural excellence.

Kalanjali 2026 invites us to experience art not merely as performance, but as emotion, expression and heritage, woven together in a timeless garland of rasa.
